"I am very happy to be living at Joseph Creek Care Village.
The building is bright and cheery and my room is really nice. But because I can’t walk as far as I used to, I think the elevator might just be one of my favourite features. It sure makes it easier to get around and visit with my friends. 

Another one of my favourite things is the food. The chef prepares some wonderful food for us and we always look forward to our meals.

The staff here are fantastic too. Someone is always around to help make my daily activities easier and more comfortable. And they have even gone the extra mile for me. I have some trouble getting in and out of bed, so they use the sling lift to help me. I was finding the lift a little awkward until they invented a comfort measure to make it easier. I thought that was very kind and I appreciate their help.

"Rocky Mountain Village is a wonderful place. I enjoy living here for lots of reasons: The people who work here are just wonderful, the meals are very good and the activities are fun.

I love that the shuttle bus is available to get me where I need to go, whether it be to my doctor’s appointments or shopping. It really supports my independence.

One of my favourite things about my new home is the real feeling of togetherness we all share. All of the residents look out for one another. I always take comfort knowing that my friends are all close by if I need them and, with the 24 hour monitoring system, so are the staff!"

"I chose Castle Wood Village because of its prime location in downtown Castlegar, but I have found that it provides so much more:  It has everything to meet my wants and needs.

For example, I think it is fantastic that dinner is included in my rent, staff co-ordinate activities to meet my personal interests, bus service is available to take me where I need to go, and the best live entertainment is available every Saturday night.

I still enjoy doing all the things I did before –I’m a gardener and I continue to create beauty here. I enjoy dancing and look forward to the nights when we have live entertainment. We have a lot of fun here!

"I think Columbia Garden Village is perfect for me.

I have a nice, spacious apartment that I have enjoyed decorating to suit my own tastes. I am happy to have the opportunity to cook for myself in my apartment when I feel like it, and enjoy someone else’s cooking on those days when I want a break. The chef’s meals are delicious and I love not having to do the dishes! The building itself is close to the clinics, grocery stores and the hospital, so I’m never far from where I need to go and having the complimentary shuttle bus available makes it so convenient for me to get around."
